Once your Healthy Louisiana (Medicaid) application receives approval, you can choose us as your health plan. If you don’t choose a plan, the state will choose one for you. Already enrolled in a health plan? You can change plans during open enrollment.
Choose Aetna Better Health as your Healthy Louisiana (Medicaid) plan. As a member, you’ll get extra benefits that go beyond your standard health coverage. Here are a few of the extras you’ll receive:
Get rewards for focusing on your health. You can start earning gift cards for completing healthy activities, like wellness checkups, yearly screenings, pregnancy care and more.
All members get $25 (per household) worth of OTC vitamins and other health supplies every quarter (three months). We'll also send them to you at no extra cost.
Members (ages 21 and older) get up to $600 per year toward dental care, including preventive care such as exams and cleanings. Adult dental vision benefits include up to $125 toward glasses or contacts, as well as one eye exam per year.
Get help with rides to health visits with stops at the pharmacy for medicine. Are you 18 or older? If yes, you can also get up to 20 one-way rides each year at no cost. These rides are for job interviews, grocery shopping, and other reasons.
Remember to choose Aetna Better Health of Louisiana when it’s time for enrollment. You have a few options:
Already enrolled in a health plan? You can switch to Aetna Better Health during open enrollment. This period is 60 days long and happens once a year. Before then, you’ll get a letter with all the info you need to change plans.
